Piping Mods and Meter Install

When a supplier of marine fuels needed piping modifications and upgrades on a barge, they turned to Vanport Marine & Industrial. During modifications to the 190 ft / 10,000 bbl capacity double-hulled fuel barge, safety and quality were the highest considerations. Following the client’s detailed Environmental, Health & Safety Management Program, Vanport employees safely modified the piping and installed a new meter, shut-off valves, and filter.

No flame cutting or welding was allowed on the barge, so the fabrication of piping and spooling was accomplished in Vanport’s fully outlined and modern 15,000 square foot facility. Once the prefabrication was completed, parts were shipped to the vessel for installation by trained and certified pipefitters.
