USCG Bertholf – Dockside Repair Package

Vanport was awarded the dockside repair project for the United States Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf. This was a comprehensive work package which allowed Vanport’s General Contracting capabilities to shine. The work items consisted of the following categories.

  • Aviation Fuel Tank Cleaning & Inspections
  • Incinerator Servicing & Testing
  • BERP & QAWTD Installation
  • AFFF Bilge Sprinkler Piping Modifications
  • Deck Drain Installations
  • Interior Deck Preservations
  • Exterior Non-Skid Preservations
  • Preservation Containment & Tenting
  • STBD Steering Actuator Overhaul

This project required the involvement of numerous subcontractors ranging from tank cleaners, preservation specialists, underwater divers, and manufacturer representatives (Kongsberg). Vanport completed all work items to the satisfaction of the United States Coast Guard. This project represented our first project out at the USCG Base in Alameda, CA. We found the facility and the weather very accommodating and hope to perform much more work for the USCG here.
