Vice President and Project Manager

Daniel has managed the largest projects at Vanport and is well-respected by customers and subcontractors.

Daniel Van Domelen, following in his father’s footsteps, has worked at Vanport Marine since 2011, starting as a welder’s apprentice. Upon graduating from Oregon State University in 2015 with a Construction Engineering Management degree, he joined Vanport full-time with multiple welding certifications, experience leading crews, and firsthand exposure to the many facets of running a ship repair business.

Daniel has managed the largest projects at Vanport and is well-respected by customers, subcontractors, and vendors for his responsiveness and integrity.

As Project Manager, Daniel’s duties include structuring attainable production schedules, project execution, on-site estimating, and pragmatically handling major issues that arise in the field.

Always a fan of a good challenge, most weeknights Daniel spends playing pick-up basketball at his local gym, waiting for the weekend in hopes that the mountain gets some fresh powder.
