Steve, Vanport’s founder, has over 40 years of experience in ship repair, marine maintenance, and fabrication. He enjoys a well-deserved reputation within the West Coast marine and fabrication industry for his extensive knowledge, resourcefulness, and responsiveness with meeting the needs of Vanport’s Customers. He currently contributes to Vanport in a reduced role, allowing others the opportunity to successfully carry out the responsibilities he once held. He currently serves the Company as a consultant to our team as needed.

While he is not on the clock, Steve is typically is out and about traveling with his wife, Mary. Together they enjoy driving throughout North America, sightseeing, and hiking the National parks and recreational areas. He also enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
