Don has over 30 years of experience in heavy industrial maintenance and repair. He had 13 years at a large ship repair and fabrication facility, where he started as an outside machinist, working on propulsion systems, winches, cranes, pumps and valves. Over the years his skill set expanded to include dual-shield welding; maintenance of blast and paint systems; an intimate understanding of marine and industrial equipment; maintenance and repair of floating dry-docks; and troubleshooting and repair of whirly and bridge cranes.
Don spent 18 years as lead millwright in the lumber industry, where he learned strong troubleshooting and repair skills, including new equipment installation and line-up, fabrication, power transmission, and both pneumatic and hydraulic installation and repair.
Always recognized as high-performer, he was selected early on for leadership roles. Don has been recognized by his peers at every juncture of his career for his thirst for continuous improvement, commitment to safety, and his ability to lead by example.
